Off the Beaten Path
This place is located fairly far from the city center of Yogyakarta so a taxi would be the best way to get there. This restaurant is located off the beaten path but it has ample seating and seems to attract both locals and tourists. In the holiday season, it’s quite crowded and the queues get outside. But the employees are very responsive so that the queue breaks down quickly.
We ordered two main dishes recommended by our server Nasi Goreng and Mie Goreng. There is no menu here, just a list that you would just check off and give to the server based off of what you want to eat (like at a sushi restaurant).
Waiting for the food to cook is quite long, but worth the taste. Overall the food had a spicy kick to it but seemed pretty average. Out of the two, Nasi Goreng was the most flavorful.
I would recommend trying this place since it’s pretty decent, but personally, if given the chance to revisit, I would definitely come back because the food possesses a distinctive flavor characteristic of Indonesian cuisine.
